Followinf the tragic death of their son Jimmy, Barry and Margaret Mizen’s response has impressed many, and none more so than the Prince of Wales. Last Sunday, he wrote in the Mail on Sunday about being inspired by the Catholic couple’s “bravery and courage” following Jimmy’s murder in an unprovoked attack in 2008.Both he and the Mizens believe that one of the ways to combat street violence is by encouraging volunteering among young people. On Thursday, at Buckingham Palace, the Prince was due to launch Step Up To Serve, an initiative designed to do just that, and the Mizens were to be in attendance.
