Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor, who delivered Pause for Thought on the last ever episode of Sir Terry Wogan’s breakfast show Wake up to Wogan on BBC Radio 2 in 2009, has spoken of the late presenter’s generosity and kindness.The veteran broadcaster, who died this week of cancer aged 77, was raised a Catholic in Limerick in Ireland, but later rejected his faith. Of his education at Crescent College, in Limerick, he once complained: “You were always committing sin. You know, pick your nose, you’re committing a sin. And going into Confession, you used to make up sins so that you weren’t wasting the priest’s time.
