Billionaire Swiss financier Urs Schwarzenbach, who helps fund renovations at the English College in Rome, has opened a new chapel on his 650-acre estate near Henley-on-Thames in Oxfordshire. The bespoke chapel, construction of which began in 2012, is a flint-and-stone building in a classical style with eighteenth-century features. Its central sculpture, a seated figure of Christ, is by the Queen’s sculptor, Professor Alexander Stoddart.Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor consecrated the chapel during a service attended by Bishop Nicholas Hudson, an auxiliary bishop in Westminster, Sir William and Lady McAlpine of Fawley Hill, and Lord and Lady Camoys of Stonor Park, along with the rector of the English College, Mgr Philip Whitmore.The choir of St Patrick’s, Soho Square, sang
