Why are young women interested in attending the old rite?According to the Latin Mass Society’s magazine Mass of Ages, the traditional liturgy, despite being seen by critics as promoting patriarchal values, has always attracted women. In its latest issue, the magazine has spoken to a number of women who attend the Mass according to the 1962 Missal, including some young professionals and a former “biker girl”, now a mother of eight. Among the elements that attract them in the liturgy are long periods of silence and a palpable sense of “contact with the divine”.However, they are in agreement that comments about women’s clothes in traditionalist circles are unhelpful including whether they should wear mantillas (pictured) or trousers.“Some people say
