It is now more than two years since the Soho Masses in central London for gay Catholics were ended and the group moved to a new church. This has not, however, meant an end to pastoral care for the group and on 10 May Cardinal Vincent Nichols is to celebrate the evening Mass normally attended by the LGBT Catholic Westminster group – the second and fourth Sunday of the month.This Mass takes place near to the anniversary of their founding in April 1999 following the homophobic-motivated bombing of the Admiral Duncan pub in Old Compton Street in Soho.From 2007 bimonthly Masses took place at Our Lady of the Assumption and St Gregory in Soho, although these were later stopped. A group had protested against the Mass outside that church but they have largely ended since the move to Farm?Str
