Omission possible?


 
It was a service to commemorate the end of British operations in Afghanistan, honouring all those who put their lives on the line and made the ultimate sacrifice for their country – a number that included many Catholics.  Yet while Baptist, Methodist, Church of Scotland and Church of England clergy read out prayers – the last three Churches had two prayer slots each – there was no role for any Catholic chaplain during the service at St Paul’s Cathedral.  Observers also noted that at one point, representatives of other faith communities came forward to the front of the cathedral but, again, Catholics were invisible.
