Francis’ list of the 15 “diseases” of the Roman Curia, outlined at the end of last year, was reportedly met with “surprise, shock and incomprehension” by its audience. The ailments included gossip, working too hard, forming closed circles and being boastful.While it received a lukewarm reception in Rome, the list has been picked up by others – outside the Church – who see it as a useful guide for their own organisations. The latest edition of the Oxford Magazine, published by the delegates of Oxford University Press, has reprinted an edited extract of the 15 diseases.
