Five Popemobiles were prepared for use during the Pope’s trip to Sri Lanka and the Philippines this week. In the Jesuitical style of adapting to local contexts, during the Philippines leg of his trip Francis is travelling in a Popemobile inspired by a jeepney. The jeepney (pictured) is a popular form of transport in the country. Also among those being used during the Philippines trip is an Isuzu, and a Kia which was used in Korea.
