It has now been almost three months since it was announced that Cardinal Antonio Cañizares Llovera, prefect of the Vatican’s department for liturgy, would return home to Spain as Archbishop of Valencia. The question of what is going to happen to the Congregation for Divine Worship has been the subject of a good deal of speculation among liturgists.One of those keen to know Pope Francis’ plans is Archbishop Arthur Roche, who as secretary since 2012, holds the department’s number two role.
