Power nap for charity


 
“Homeless young people today stand before a cliff that is higher and steeper than ever before,” Cathy Corcoran of the Cardinal Hume Centre told 90 chief executives as they prepared to sleep out in Wembley Stadium on Monday. “Thank you for giving up one night of comfort as an act of solidarity with those who experience homelessness on a nightly basis.”The event, which took place a few days after World Homeless Day, brought the executives to the venue Pele once described as “the cathedral of football”. They were given a tour of the stadium before being asked to find a place to sleep for the night. The hallowed turf itself was strictly out of bounds, but among those who unrolled their sleeping bags beside the touchline were John Hall, dean of Westminster,
