Superheroes to the rescue


 
Given the poor state of religious literacy among young people, it is time to think creatively about how to communicate basic tenets of faith. Brothers Dr Rob Freathy, of Exeter University, and Giles Freathy, a teacher at Sir Robert Geffery’s School, a primary academy in Saltash, Cornwall, have created religious-education superheroes “Know-it-all-Nicky”, “Debate-it-all-Derek” and “Have-a-go-Hugo” to help pupils learn.
