OUR COVER this week depicts a detail of a crucifix by the late artist Steven Sykes. Sixteen feet high and made of concrete, it is looking for a home in a Catholic church. Educated at the Reading Oratory School and the Royal College of Art, Sykes, who died in 1999, is best known for his Gethsemane Chapel mural in Coventry Cathedral. His daughter Clare is keen for the crucifix – which includes panels depicting Christ’s Passion – to be located in a church setting that would do it
