For most 73-year-olds, abseiling 70 metres down the side of a high-rise car park might be a challenge too far. Not so for the Bishop of Darwin, Eugene Hurley, who successfully managed the feat in the capital city of Australia’s Northern Territory last month to raise awareness of good causes.He told us afterwards that the experience had freshened his prayer life, explaining: “There is certainly a moment of truth when you lean back over the edge. It sharpens your prayer.
