2013 was a dramatic year for the Church, so what might 2014 have in store?Following his appointment as a member of an important Vatican department, it looks increasingly likely that the Archbishop of Westminster will be made a cardinal at the next consistory on 22 February – the Pope could announce the names of who will receive the red hat tomorrow.Vincent Nichols’ position on the Church’s bishop-making body might also give us a clue as to who might be named to one of the five English dioceses in need of a new leader.
