Charity begins away


 
It must have felt a world away from the comfort of the ITV studio on match day but for football presenter Adrian Chiles it was worth it. He has just returned from a whistle-stop trip to El Salvador and Guatemala with Cafod and the local Jesuit Development Service to look at and experience work supported by the charity’s World Gifts programme. In El Salvador, Mr Chiles spent one day working on a chicken farm and another making coconut sweets in an operation benefiting from a £16 “start a business” gift. In Guatemala he saw how a £30 gift was providing essential vaccines and nutritional support for babies and toddlers. A former presenter of BBC TV’s The One Show and due to return to the corporation on Radio 5 live, the Birmingham-born son of a Jewish fath
