First Archdiocese in Portugal issues guidelines on Amoris Laetitia


Archdiocese of Braga is first in the country to issue guidelines for the application of the Pope’s family encyclical

The archdiocese of Braga, one of the most important in Portugal, has become the first in the country to issue guidelines for the application of the Pope’s family encyclical, Amoris Laetitia. Braga announced a new service that couples in an “irregular” situation can contact. A first step will ascertain the possibility of marriages being declared null, but if that is not the case, a process of discernment can begin which may end in admission to the sacraments of Confession and Communion.
