President Donald Trump on Friday last week became the first sitting president to address the annual Right-to-Life rally in person, by live video-link.
The president spoke from a rostrum at the White House while the rally was held a mile away on the National Mall. “Under my administration, we will always defend the very first right in the Declaration of Independence, the right to life,” Mr Trump told the crowd. He listed pro-life actions his administration has taken, such as supporting the Pain-Capable bill that would bar abortions after 20 weeks and reinstating a ban on federal aid to NGOs that promote abortion abroad.
