Priest leaves traditionalist parish

The priest who took over a parish that had become a centre for the Extraordinary Form of the Mass has announced that he is resigning from ministry after less than a year in post, writes Christopher Lamb.

Fr Steven Fisher succeeded Fr Tim Finigan as the parish priest of Our Lady of the Rosary, Blackfen, in Kent, in September last year. Explaining that the ­transition had not been easy, he told the parish: “All I will say, at the moment, is that the personal cost to my physical and mental health was high.”
