Christians urged to fight climate change

CHRISTIANS ACROSS Britain are being asked to pray and fast on the first day of each month in an attempt to focus attention on climate issues in the run-up to the next big international summit, which takes place in Paris in a year’s time, writes Joanna Moorhead.

The initiative will be launched on 1 November, when Catholics will join others from the faith spectrum at services across Britain.

In London, the main event will be a service at St John’s Anglican church, Waterloo, with a homily from Oasis Trust founder the Revd Steve Chalke, while one of the main venues in northern England is St Peter’s Catholic Cathedral in Lancaster.
