A report to the British parliament says that persecution of Christians in Iran is as severe as it was in 2012, under former President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
When Hassan Rouhani was elected president in 2013, he promised to improve human rights but the report of the Christians in Parliament All Party Parliamentary Group and the All Party Parliamentary Group for International Freedom of Religion or Belief shows this has not been the case.
The number of Christians believed to be detained in prison at the end of December 2014 was estimated at 92. “Persecution remains as severe today as it was in 2012,” the report says.
