Peter Sutherland, Irish barrister and chairman of Goldman Sachs International, has been elected president of the Geneva-based International Catholic Migration Commission (ICMC).
Mr Sutherland is an expert on immigration, having served as the UN Secretary General’s special representative for international migration since 2006.
The ICMC is an international NGO that works closely with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees. It currently focuses on the resettlement of refugees from Syria and Iraq.
