The Filipino Church has pledged to promote respect for women, reach out to the needy and to cry “when I feel like crying” in the aftermath of Pope Francis’ trip to the country.
The list of “10 Things to do after the Papal Visit”, which was published online by the visit’s organising committee, also asks Catholics to pray for Pope Francis, to “dream big for my family” and to “allow God to surprise me”.
Its fourth pledge, “Let the tears fall when I feel like crying”, recalls the many times during the January visit when Pope Francis appeared profoundly moved, such as when he embraced a weeping formerly homeless girl whom he said taught the country to “cry with the suffering”.

Pope Francis’ week in Asia culminated with a Mass in Manila on Sunday attended by more than six million people.
The Pope gave thanks for the visit during his General Audience this morning in Rome.
He told pilgrims, gathered in the Paul VI Hall because of the rain, that the focus of his journey had been to be close to those affected by the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan, which struck in 2013.
