Authorities in Pakistan have detained 59 people for the brutal murder of a Christian couple in November.
Shama Bibi, aged 28 and five months pregnant, and her husband, Shahzad Masih, aged 32, were burned alive in a brick kiln by a mob in Kot Radha Kishan, 40 miles south of Lahore. Their legs had been broken.
The couple had four children aged between two and seven.
The Pakistani bishops’ conference said at the time that Muslim clerics had encouraged the attack after Mrs Bibi was accused of burning pages of the Qur’an.
Some 79 people believed to be involved in the attack are said to still be at large.
Last week more than 150 people attended a memorial service at a Catholic church, wearing black ribbons on their arms. They prayed for the couple and lit candles in front of pictures of them.
