Pharisees’ dubium
Four cardinals have presented Pope Francis with a “dubium” about his teaching on the law in Amoris Laetitia and he has not responded. When the Pharisees address their “dubium” to Jesus, “plotting how they might entrap him”, he either answers with a counter-question or, in John’s gospel, ignores them and doodles in the dust. He then offers a proposition that sends them skulking away.
Francis is Christ-like in so many ways.
