Questionable questions


 
We attached the synod survey questionnaire on the family (leader, “A truly Catholic ­consultation”, 9 November) to the parish newsletter at the weekend. Several people have since contacted me to say that you would need the theology of Aquinas to understand some of the phraseology of the document and the intelligence of Einstein to give full justice to the questions. This is a repeat of the English translation of the Roman Missal. I must ask who sanctioned this survey to be published in its present form. This is surely one way to discourage anybody from responding.(Fr) Tom Grufferty, Havant, HampshireA great opportunity is being wasted.
