I was very moved by Fr Colin Stewart's brave, inspiring and pastorally sensitive and insightful letter (Letters, 13 June) which should be essential preparatory reading for all delegates attending the forthcoming synod on the family. It is certainly very reassuring to note that at least one Catholic priest can function as a truly Christian pastor by not allowing his mental hygiene to become contaminated by canon law.
