What a disgraceful waste of £7.5 million (News from Britain and Ireland, 23 May). The ruins of St Peter’s Seminary, Cardross, Scotland (within my parish) are grotesque. I know; I have explored them. They should be handed over to the Fleet Protection Group, Royal Marines, at Faslane naval base, and used for urban-warfare exercises until completely destroyed.
