The emergence of a fresh generation of religious sisters in England and Wales is great news (News from Britain and Ireland, 25 April), but how will their sacramental, eucharistic life together be sustained? For some time, the shortage of clergy has meant a constant struggle for many women’s communities to celebrate Mass together regularly. And when they do succeed, the priests involved often have little sensitivity to their orders’ particular charisms.
