It’s not just “the leaders of faith who absorb some of the politicians’ dark arts” (Catherine Pepinster, column, 15 March). Websites and blogs parading themselves as so very “RC” can be cauldrons of calumny and detraction. Why would any casual seeker after truth, stumbling across one of these, wish to join a Church whose members slag each other off with scant regard for basic human decency, let alone fundamental Christian charity?The communion of the Church and the integrity of its mission would be better served were those who contribute to these sites to use their own names, not hide in the shadows of anonymity, and were those who manage these sites to accept contributions only from folk using their own (verifiable) names.(Fr) Geoffrey Steel, Carlisle,
