Jonathan Luxmoore (“A step too far?”, 15 February) states that the Polish bishops are disappointed that the canonisation of John Paul II is twinned with that of John XXIII. Apparently they view Roncalli as a “much lesser figure” than Wojtyla. I have similar sentiments but for the very opposite reasons. John XXIII towers above all popes in modern times.
