I quite agree with Joanna Moorhead’s column on breastfeeding (18 January). It reminded me of a time when our family were on leave (in the 1980s), used to life in Central America and Nepal, and were in a store restaurant in Norwich. Our fourth child needed feeding, which my wife proceeded to do with great modesty, under a cloth. However, she was told this was unacceptable to the management (and fellow diners, one supposes?), and was banished to the loo to breastfeed him – much to her sadness and my indignation. For such situations, in acceding to Page 3 girls and similar titillating ways of getting us to buy things, I think we men have a lot to answer for!
