I wonder if the writer of the editorial on the Alfie Evans case (28 April) had actually read the court judgments.
Mr Justice Hayden was very careful to pay tribute to Alfie’s parents, recognising their wish to do all they could for their child. At the same time, he pointed out that the Bambino Gesu hospital was not offering the chance of a cure or any real improvement: so what “last chance”? Are you suggesting that they experiment on a child with no hope of a cure?
