Your editorial on workers’ rights was timely, with the TUC general secretary, Frances O’Grady, speaking at the Vatican (“Revive the spirit of Cardinal Manning”, 2 December). Unfortunately, you seem to ignore the recent institutional Church history, which shows a failure to even recognise workers let alone their rights.
