I now know for certain what I have long suspected: the bishops of England and Wales do not care about the liturgical needs of British Catholics. Your editorial of 25 November spells out what they could have done in response to the instruction from the Congregation for Divine Worship about the liturgy in English. As far as we know, they did none of it, but stated that they were grateful for the guidance!
I wonder whether it has occurred to any of them what it is like to have to steel oneself to attend Mass each Sunday, because of the appalling massacre of our language. I know that there is something deeper here than language, and so I have not yet followed those who have given up altogether, but attendance at Mass should not be an occasion for suffering.
