Climate change sceptic Cardinal Pell may be right

As former Australian Prime Minister, Kevin Rudd claims, Cardinal Pell may well be a global figure with decidedly skeptical views on climate change but his public statements on climate change ought to be weighed in context namely, that he holds a licentiate in theology and his highest degree is a doctorate in Church History if one ignores the freebie substantive DD that comes with elevation to the episcopacy.

Cardinals, like politicians, may hold 'ministries' for which they hold no formal qualifications, and like politicians, may do well and often move successively from ministry to ministry and do well in these posts for which they lack formal qualifications.

The Cardinal appears to be doing a sterling job as Prefect for the Secretariat for the Economy for which he lacks formal qualification.

So if he can get this right then it is possible that his views on climate change may be right! Not that I am sure.
