Men get the issues regarding women

Madam,

I was so pleased to read the letters about Women's Roles (24 October) in our Church and fully endorse their sentiments and if these men 'get it', how come the hierarchy are still lagging behind in their response to what is clearly unacceptable in our modern world.

Pope Francis does recognise our value to the holistic and all-embracing nature of our universal Church but still the process is agonisingly slow and frustrating.

In the debate in the House of Lords in relation to the infamous Tax Credit Cuts, it was very strong and committed women who carried the day and defeated the Government on these very divisive measures.

Also in this edition Abbot Christian Haidinger has spoken out on our behalf that it was clearly wrong that no women were allowed to vote in the Synod on their specialised subject 'The Family'. Please will recognition come soon and women take their rightful and necessary roles in the Governance of our Church, it is not only divisive but extremely hurtful to committed women such as Carmody Grey who only want to serve in a twenty-first century Church and make their special and unique contribution; end of.

Sincerely,

Judith A. Daniels, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk
