Child-friendly First Communion designs

I enjoyed visiting the websites suggested by Maria Butcher in response to Katherine Cronan’s search for child-friendly First Communion design (The Tablet, Letters, 2 July). Her letter was accurate in its analysis, though limited in its oversight – there are more sources of good material than she has discovered thus far, for example Redemptorist Publications produce some excellent liturgical resources for children.

I would recommend in particular FaithMap to which I have contributed over the years, which provides practical ideas, material and scripture-based stories for every Sunday of the liturgical calendar.

I am a professed hermit of the Diocese of Nottingham, based at St Cuthbert’s House; my whole income is derived from my calligraphic designs. My own First Communion cards and certificates use easily accessible words and images that focus on the Eucharist as an expression of Church as the Body of Christ.
