Remember Richard III with a Tridentine Mass

Late next month the last Plantagenet king will be laid to rest in Leicester Cathedral. There have been suggestions that his re-burial should take place in Westminster Cathedral, Westminster Abbey or in York.

At this stage, the arrangements for his obsequies will not be changed, and one is confident that the Anglican service will be seemly and dignified.

It is good that the unhappy monarch will not be subjected to a posthumous penance such as a celebration of his life, complete with liturgical dancers, gospel choir and banal hymns.

An appropriate rememberance would be a Requiem Mass for the repose of his soul using the Rite of Sarum or York, as introduced into England by Archbishops Robert and Osmond.

As the late king was reputed to be pious, he would have known and loved both forms. Perhaps some of your readers could arrange this?

Richard was Lord of Ireland, so I shall have an anachronistic Tridentine Mass said here, that his spirit may rest in peace.
