French help UK gay marriage fight22 March 2013
A French group that organised a massive protest against gay marriage in Paris is to hold a similar march in London next weekend.
La Manif Pour Tous ("Protest for All") has urged Catholics and particularly French expatriates who oppose the legalisation of gay marriage in France to attend a demonstration in London on 24 March, Palm Sunday. The demonstration, which will begin at 2pm in Trafalgar Square, will occur simultaneously to a demonstration in Paris. More than 1 million people attended a previous protest in France in January, according to the group.
A spokesman for the event said that the demonstration aimed to influence both the UK and French governments as they continue to scrutinise bills that would legalise gay marriage.
