Few or no regrets for Dr Williams2 October 2012
It doesn't do for an Archbishop of Canterbury to be too cautious, Dr Rowan Williams told an appreciative audience in London this week.
At one of his last set piece events before he steps down at the end of the year, Dr Williams explained that he does "do regrets" but that overall he felt he had been right to make judgements on the issues of the day.
The archbishop was speaking after delivering the annual lecture of the religious think-thank Theos at Methodist Central Hall on Monday. In a wide-ranging question and answer session, Dr Williams gave his views on the Occupy protest camp outside St Paul's, the financial crisis, abortion, human rights, homosexuality, negative images of the Church and other subjects.
