Year of Faith events revealed

27 June 2012

The Pontifical Council for the New Evangelisation has unveiled a calendar of events to celebrate the forthcoming Year of Faith, including a series of papal liturgies, a concert in St Peter's Square and a simultaneous Eucharistic Adoration in all the world's cathedrals for the Feast of Corpus Christi.

The New Evangelisation office has produced an official hymn, Credo, Domine, adauge nobis fidem ("I believe, Lord increase our faith"), a logo and a multi-lingual website aimed at co-ordinating the year's events in parishes and dioceses. The Congregation for Divine Worship has devised a special Mass "for the New Evangelisation" for use during the year. It is hoped that some of the more than 75 surviving bishops from the Second Vatican Council will concelebrate at the 11 October opening papal Mass.
