Sleepwalking out of Europe

Time is running out to convince sceptical Britons that staying in the European Union will be good for the UK, despite the Prime Minister’s efforts to renegotiate a deal Around this time last year the first edition of my book Brexit: How Britain Will Leave Europe was published. It was a political history of the torrid relations between British politicians and European integration from 1945 up to today. After David Cameron returned to Downing Street I updated the book. I do not enjoy being a Cassandra and hope voters prove the title of my book wrong by rejecting Brexit.But I am not sure. The book was sparked by David Cameron’s announcement of a referendum on British membership of Europe made three years ago and written in response to a French friend, the editor of a major Paris
