Protect and change our common home

As delegates gather for the Paris summit, it is clear that the Catholic Church, and the spirit of Laudato si’, have become significant influences in the global movement Pope Francis deliberately chose to release his encyclical on the environment, Laudato si’, in a year when decisions are being made that will affect humanity for years to come. During 2015 there have been UN discussions focusing on how to build a future in which no one is left behind and where we collectively live within the environmental limits of the planet; the new Sustainable Development Goals agreed in September reflected this approach.
