Last week’s working document – or Instrumentum Laboris – for October’s Synod on the Family urged closer integration of divorced and remarried people into the life of the Church, something currently being pioneered in the archdiocese of Milan The Church, in particular through the teachings of the past few popes, has strongly emphasised the ­intrinsic relationship between evan­gel­isation and the truth about the family.
