The Catholic charity Depaul UK aims to recreate a sense of family life for the thousands of homeless young people who pass through its care. Now, as it marks its twenty-fifth anniversary, the organisation is embarking on an ambitious expansion of its services A number of agencies swing into action when a young person is officially classified as homeless. First, there is mediation with their family to try to make it possible for them to go home; emergency shelters provide accommodation for a night at a time; social services and charities liaise to find a room in a hostel.
