Saturday 21 June was a heady day for Heythrop College. Its 400th anniversary celebrations had begun a few days earlier with a substantial academic conference, featuring its staff and Jesuits from around the world, and marking its long tradition of learning provided by the Society of Jesus that started in Louvain and is now based in Kensington, central London.
