In its setting in the Oxfordshire countryside, Ripon College Cuddesdon proved a perfect venue earlier this month for a group of theologians from different Churches around the world, united by a passion for dialogue and a commitment to the path of closer cooperation among Christians and believers of all religious traditions.Oldest of the Church of England’s theological training colleges, its architecture is a striking mixture of G.E. Street’s Victorian High Gothic and the award-winning contemporary styling of the Bishop Edward King chapel. Such a contrast could be said to exemplify the hope for the future built on the solid foundations of the past that underpinned the eighth international ecumenical conference organised by the Ecclesiological Investigations (EI) network.
