Last week the United Nations committee in Geneva that verifies compliance with the Convention on the Rights of the Child issued a blistering, and now widely known, criticism of the Holy See’s adherence to that international treaty. If Francis has an Achille's Heel it is his ever-so-noticeable silence on the handling of the clerical sex abuse crisis and the complicity of so much of the hierarchy.
His words have thrilled the world. In this case the world is waiting for actions to prove that he is a walker as well as a talker.
