I hope that you found something good to pour at Christmas and New Year. It seems that prosecco has now overtaken Champagne sales in this country, and there did seem a lot of it about. Prosecco does seem to offer very good value for money, but I suspect that its popularity is now reflected in climbing prices. And price is becoming more difficult to give any assurance or even advice about. I was planning to recommend a good Gavi di Gavi from Tesco, which I bought at around £7, I think, but when I saw the same bottle on the shelf the other day, it had shot up to just under £12. Castel di Serra is a reasonable gavi, but the price is not.Better value might be found elsewhere.
