Play up, play up and play the game: fee-paying schools' bursaries and scholarships
Just seven per cent of children in England are educated privately, often in schools with small class sizes, huge playing fields and an elite, global intake.
With parents paying on average £4,700 per term at a day school and £10,600 per term at boarding school, the vast majority of families feel excluded simply because of the cost. However, most schools offer means-tested bursaries, which are open to anyone.
